Wonder Woman Trailer Debuts at SDCC 2016

Hot news everybody- the 2016 San Diego Comic Con has delivered a first trailer for the upcoming Wonder Woman– starring Gal Gadot, this movie is coming out on June 2, 2017- we have the first trailer here for your viewing pleasure.

I’m honestly not sure what to think of this. On the one hand? I’m tremendously excited for see the DC cinematic universe finally beginning to spread its wings, and at long last, we get a female led superhero movie (sorry, Elektra). On the other hand? I really hated Batman v. Superman largely because it failed to do its characters justice, and I’m worried that Wonder Woman could fall into the same pit.

Then again, Zack Snyder’s not in charge of directing this film- Patty Jenkins, director of Monster and various episodes of The Killing as well as an episode of Arrested Development, is taking the lead on Wonder Woman. I have high hopes for this movie, but I’m not placing them too high; it’ll be some time before I’m excited for a live-action DC film the way that I am for Marvel’s offerings.

On another note, the movie’s WWII setting looks intriguing; will it be handled quite as well as it was in Captain America: The First Avenger? That remains to be seen.
