June 11, 2016 Game News Update – New PS4 Confirmed, Pre E3 Announcements, Russia Accepts eSports
This was a pretty crazy week for game news- Sony confirmed that a new PS4 is in development, a whole bunch of game announcements were made before E3, Russia’s government has accepted eSports as actual sports and the government of Iran has banned 1979 Revolution, but the game may not be blocked for much longer- that, and we’re giving away a copy of Steamworld Heist for the Playstation 4/Vita. Check it all out on this week’s episode of Game News Update!
If you’re wondering about that awesome Overwatch video showing off a couple teams of Genji players enjoying badminton, you can watch that here:
Regarding the week’s Kickstarter projects, the first is for a game called Transmission, which is set to be released on Mac, Windows and Linux. In Transmission, you play as an astronaut who has crash-landed on a mysterious planet; you have no idea why you’re there, but you have to figure out how to survive. I love the game’s art style and I’m really hoping to see it succeed; check out the game’s trailer below.
The other project that got our attention is for a visual compendium on the NES/Famicom– I’ve not much to say about it, other than the fact that it looks like a gorgeous coffee table book for retrogaming enthusiasts; check it out if it looks like your sort of thing.
