Steampunk Western Robot Adventure, Steamworld Dig, Coming to 3DS

I’m not sure what it is about steampunk that makes it such an endearing aesthetic- perhaps it’s the idea of a past that might’ve been, as seen through time? Perhaps. Whatever the case is, Steamworld Dig is coming to the 3DS on August 7th for Europe and August 8th, 2013, for the United States. The game’s premise is that you’re an old robot by the name of Rusty, doing his job as a miner when suddenly, you unwittingly awaken an ancient evil. According to the official press release, “You dig tunnels, collect rare minerals, sell them for better equipment and take on the terrors of the underground – while Rusty undergoes the strangest of transformations.” The official trailer comes out tomorrow; today, we have a gallery filled with screenshots and concept art. Enjoy!

According to the game’s official site, SD features randomized worlds- an interesting choice considering the style of platformer. Be sure to stick with us for our review!
