Game News: World’s Largest Game of Pong Took Place On a Building (Video Here)

It’s tech week in Philadelphia right now, and many great things are happening around the city. One of them is the world’s largest game of Pong.Organized by Dr. Frank Lee of Drexel University, it’s something that he’s “been envisioning for quite a while”, and he says it’s “fun for anyone who’s ever played a video game, but it’s also a uniquely interactive art installation.” The first game took place on April 19th, 2013 and the next takes place on the 24th. The players are on the steps of the Philadelphia Art Museum, where they watch their game on the north wall of the Cira Centre.

We’ve got a video of the Cira Centre in action right here:

That’s not all- on Wednesday night, there’ll be another game of Skyscraper-Pong according to this schedule. If you’re in the area and want something geeky to do, check it out! There’s something awesome about playing something as simple as Pong on something as large as a building. Perhaps in the deep future (like, a decade in technological time) we’ll see Minecraft played in the sky. We can dream.

As a Drexel grad it does my heart proud to see that people from my school strive to bring forth so much creativity.
