Game Review: Game of Thrones: Iron from Ice

Game Review: Game of Thrones: Iron from Ice

Fresh on the heels of Tales from the Borderlands comes Telltale Games first foray into a television property. Game of Thrones episode 1: Iron from Ice is an original story told between the events of Season 3 and Season 4 of the show. With that being said If you haven’t watched the show PLEASE DON’T PLAY THIS. It literally spoils most of the major plot points of the first few seasons. Now much like Borderlands the previous week, this game as a huge pedigree to live up to, and for the most part it delivers. This episode much like... Read On

Retrospective: Resident Evil 5 (XBOX 360)

Do you remember when survival horror games were just survival horror games? What I mean is; not action games with a dash of horror and a bucket load of gratuitous gore. I’ve written only about great games for a while and though it is in no way a retro title, I played this one a while back I thought it would be a nice chance to vent my dormant spleen before an overdose optimism inflates my head like a watermelon. Resident Evil 5 had everything going for it after its predecessor Resi 4 broke the mould by introducing a... Read On

Retrospective: Shadow Of The Colossus (PS2)

I first played this game a few years ago when a friend lent it to and immediately loved it. Unfortunately he moved before I could finish it and I never found it again. That is until I was given a copy for my birthday this year! Right from the start I remembered exactly what made me love it the first time I played it. Shadow of the Colossus is an epic action adventure on the PS2, developed by Team Ico (the same team that made – you guessed it – The iconic Ico, a game I’ve yet to hunt... Read On

Game Review: Cognition: An Erica Reed Thriller- Episode 2, The Wise Monkey

Game Review: Cognition: An Erica Reed Thriller- Episode 2, The Wise Monkey

When I reviewed the first episode of Cognition, in all honesty, it was a title that seemed to be somewhat generic compared to all of the other action and adventure titles that have been released. I wasn’t left with a very good first impression- it hardly had a worthwhile script, the facial expressions were very off, and the characters themselves were very obnoxious and hardly adding mystery, rather, it added more irritating scenarios for the player. The Wise Monkey- the second episode- on the other hand is better than the first because of how well everything played off. The game... Read On

Game Review: Tomb Raider

Game Review: Tomb Raider

Tomb Raider is a very iconic franchise and it’s been quite some time since Lara Croft had a great game. Crystal Dynamics tackled the challenge of brining Lady Croft to both new and old fans in this refreshing reboot with great gameplay that helps tell a great story, showing that there is still plenty of life left in Lara Croft. Lara Croft is already a well established character. But rather than just churn out another Tomb Raider that has any ties to the previous games, they chose to start fresh and reboot the franchise starting with a retelling of... Read On
