Star Wars – Darth Maul – Death Sentence Review!

Star Wars – Darth Maul – Death Sentence Review!

Alright everyone, I’m going to keep this one nice and short. I’m not what you’d call a “Star-Wars,” fan boy. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy it for what it is, but I have little to no knowledge of the franchise aside from the movies I’ve seen and the video-games I’ve played. I freely admit this is the first Star-Wars comic I have ever read. I’ll admit I didn’t expect much from the Darth Maul themed comic book and it’s story. I mean the guy got cut in half and fell down a reactor core – YET he managed... Read On

Chronicles of King Conan – Vol. 5 The Black Dragons and Other Stories Review!

Chronicles of King Conan – Vol. 5 The Black Dragons and Other Stories Review!

Alright everyone I’m going to say that I already knew this review in particular was going to be an interesting one – Considering that this was my first introduction to Conan – The Barbarian. This collection features work from Writer: Alan Zelenetz, Penciller: Marc Silvestri, Artist: Geof Isherwood, Dave Simons, Colorist: George Roussos, and Cover Artist: Michael Kaluta. This Conan collection focuses primarily on the loss of Conan’s son, and how his grief is affecting his rule. Poor old Conan is literally blinded both by anger due to the frustration of not finding the killer of his child OR... Read On

Comic News! Before Watchmen: Review(s)!

Hello again everybody! I figured I’d hold off on these “Before Watchmen,” reviews until a few were released so that I could review a group of them at once. I figured it would be easier for all of us! Well, I have to say, any reservations I had about the “Before Watchmen,” story arcs have been put to rest. Each issue has revealed itself to be better than the last. We have Nite Owl #1, Silk Spectre #1, Ozymandias #1and The Comedian #1. I’ll start off with The Comedian #1, who we all know is Eddie Blake. Now I’m... Read On

Comics News: Before Watchmen review!

Comics News: Before Watchmen review!

I have to admit, after hearing the announcement for this project I couldn’t help but side with those that were not too excited about it. The graphic novel “Watchmen,” will forever be a stand-alone piece of art, one that will continue to influence work throughout the years. I really didn’t see the point of “re-hashing,” something that was already done! We all already know the beginning, middle, and end of the story. Or so we thought! After reading the first issue, I have to admit, I was impressed with the way all of the characters were given a second... Read On

Alan Scott! THE Green Lantern

Comic news: D.C.’s newest gay superhero revealed

Hey everybody! It’s been sometime since my last-post! And this time I’m going to be talking about something that’s been rumored about for quite some time. D.C. has been hinting at the reveal of a major character for quite awhile, but here’s the “catch,” that major character is going to be gay. D.C. has finally revealed who their new flagship character will be: Alan Scott, also known as the original Green Lantern, is going to be revealed that he is in fact gay, in a new story that is going to reboot his character. After this was made public... Read On

Hardcore, Casual, and Why I Don’t Care

Hardcore, Casual, and Why I Don’t Care

Video games are a medium. Indeed, they’re one of the, if not the most quickly advancing medium in the history of the world. They also happen to be one of the most controversial, engaging, and exciting. Like any art form, there are masterpieces and disasters, cheap imitators and unique triumphs. There are those who staunchly, stubbornly stand by their favorite works, claiming those they prefer have greater artistic merit than all others. These people refer to themselves as hardcore, choosing to believe that they alone are Real Gamers on a mission from Arcadia to save the world from... Read On
