Rockhart Clothing Makes Classy, Geeky Apparel

Rockhart Clothing Makes Classy, Geeky Apparel

It’s not too often that I care to write about gaming stuff that doesn’t really have much to do with gaming. Not that I don’t like writing about the culture and such that surrounds gaming- it’s just that there’s always a glut of news about releases and hardware and little controversies- and there’s so little time to write. Today, however, I’m taking a moment to write about Rockhart. I stumbled across these guys recently, and I have to say that I’m impressed by their offerings- something of theirs that especially caught my eye, however, was on one of their... Read On

Shenmue 3 at E3?

Shenmue 3 at E3?

Shemnue 3 at E3? Years have passed since director Yu Suzuki left video game enthusiasts wedged on a cliff-hanger moment that’s teased our desire to see the series through to the very end. The original Shenmue was nothing short of groundbreaking, this is the second highest produced game in history and introduced completely new mechanics that weren’t seen ever before. This Dreamcast exclusive definitely stood out amongst the competition as a shining example of the systems future potential which was cut drastically short after the prescience of the Playstation 2 & the DVD drive came to light. Since the... Read On

Wolfenstein: The New Order shows Nazis that won

Wolfenstein: The New Order shows Nazis that won

Here’s a take of history that I found interesting ever since I saw The Producers, a movie where producers (who would’ve thought?) try to put on a terrible play about Hitler winning the war in order to keep the investment money and escape to South America. Immediately after watching this trailer, all I could think of was the moment during his song where the director changed the ending of the play to make the Nazis win because their loss was too depressing: “Wait, there’s more! THEY WIN THE WAR!” It’s just a take I found interesting and might be pretty... Read On

Konami Reveals Voice Actor for Snake in Metal Gear Solid V

Konami Reveals Voice Actor for Snake in Metal Gear Solid V

For quite some time the voice of Snake aka Big Boss aka the guy that gets blown up then reassembled with clone body parts was unknown since David Hayter took to his twitter announcing he would NOT be voicing Snake for the first time in…well EVER. So many fans were absolutely baffled. Why the sudden change from Konami? Of course we should have expected some more surprises from Kojima who just loves make us scratch our heads with every new announcement. Today Konami released their pre-E3 show and of course the broached the subject of Metal Gear Solid V... Read On

Third Street Saints are Back..?

Third Street Saints are Back..?

Deep Silver, the new publisher for the Saints Row franchise since the fall of THQ, has released numerous trailers for the upcoming Saints Row IV, hitting Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Windows on August 22, 2013. I played the second game of the series first because of a friend. I ended up beating it in just a few days. The series had me hooked. It was everything Grand Theft Auto IV wasn’t. It featured a different kind of protagonist: instead of a depressing foreign gentleman, it featured a psychotic killer who had an almost Walter White quality about him/her. You began... Read On

Deus Ex: The Fall Announced

Deus Ex: The Fall Announced

Deus Ex: Human Revolution  was a great game that featured a fully realized future, with stylized neo-noir architecture and great music too boot. Oh and the gameplay was awesome too and allowed player to create their own unique experience and play style. Aside from some terribly designed boss battles and multiple choice ending forced down our throats, overall it was a great game. So naturally many people would want a sequel and be re-immersed into this world. And guess what…we’re still not getting it. A few days ago Eidos released a teaser announcing the game, but no one... Inside Florida Supercon: Video Game Exhibits

Inside Florida Supercon: Video Game Exhibits

Florida Supercon, or FSC, is a four-day festival dedicated to the people who love the best things the nerd world has to offer; they’ll be celebrating comics, cartoons, anime, video games, fantasy, sci-fi, and every thing else that makes us slobber on our Spider-Man t-shirts. A huge expansion has been made to FSC’s efforts to appeal to gamers. Running all four days of the convention will be a “video game ballroom.” Contrary to my initial perception, it isn’t a ball hosted by Link and Zelda, but a ballroom in the adjacent Doubletree Hotel loaded with tournaments and other goodies... Game News: Tiny Brains Coming to Playstation 4

If you’re a fan of puzzlers with wacky humor along the lines of Portal, you’re going to want to check out Tiny Brains, an upcoming indie puzzle game that puts you in the shoes of a lab animal trying to escape- you’ve been experimented on and now have superpower that you plan on using to bust loose. The game is built for co-op and was one of my personal favorites at PAX East 2013. If you’re interested in reading more about it, be sure to check out our interview with the game’s creator. As far as the good news about... Read On

E3 Isn’t Important (For Most of Us)

E3 Isn’t Important (For Most of Us)

“Adapt or die.” So said Darwin a great many years ago, and this has become a mantra in the business world today. It’s important to recognize when things are changing and be ready to change with them or face one’s own end. Such may be true for E3, the Electronic Entertainment Expo. For quite a few years, it was the only show in town- it was before the Penny Arcade Expo and New York Comic Con. It started in 1996- back when SNES games were still in production and the Nintendo 64 was brand spanking new. Things were very... Read On

Fallout 4 targeted to be an Xbox One Exclusive?

Fallout 4 has been a pending nuclear weapon waiting to detonate following the groundbreaking prequel which interjected players into a baron wasteland that richly provided hours of entertainment. It became little surprise that the third instalment (a multiplatform release) earned a “megaton” in praise and recognised as “Game of the Year”. Bethesda has built a solid reputation with RPG fans and has continued to maintain the strong bond. The upcoming consoles to be thrown into the market this fall are beginning a struggle that has been emphasised recently based on Fallout 4s promise. Microsoft has attempted to strike a... Read On

Why I’m Excited For a Potential Mirror’s Edge 2

Why I’m Excited For a Potential Mirror’s Edge 2

Back in 2008 EA and DICE gave us Mirror’s Edge- a first person game that said goodbye to standard run and gun gameplay and put movement and exploration in the forefront. Gone were the dark environments that populate most shooters. Instead we had a vibrant, clean world that we could only hope to have in the future. It was an interesting idea, though many gamers and critics were hesitant towards the concept. Sure the idea was cool, but the heavy focus on parkour from a first person perspective was something that wasn’t clicking with audiences. I remember when I... Read On

Game News: Two Awesome Bundles!

Game News: Two Awesome Bundles!

If you don’t know what any of the different charity bundles are that are offered by sites such as Indie Royale, or Humble Bundle.com, then you are missing out on very large opportunities. Basically, how these bundles work are, you pay however much you want, depending on what they the site thinks is the average, or some bundles just have you pay whatever you want, and then from there, you decide if the money should go to charity, or to the developers, or the site itself. This is normally a great opportunity to not only buy a pack of... Read On

Looks Like Young Justice: Legacy is Still Alive

Looks Like Young Justice: Legacy is Still Alive

I felt kind of terribly guilty for not having been caught up with the show Young Justice when it ended- it was a pretty good animated series about sidekicks kicking off and forming their own group. While the series has ended, a while back, a video game based on the show was announced. It’s name was Young Justice: Legacy. For a while, I forgot about it, and assumed it was dead after hearing of the show’s cancellation. Apparently, however, that’s not the case. While reading a press release for Majesco’s E3 2013 lineup, I spotted something that caught my... Read On

Current Generation to Lag the Next?

Current Generation to Lag the Next?

The Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 equally provide realistic power and have broadened by providing a multitude of entertainment. Consoles are no longer a one trick pony as you can access different entertainment services, listen to music, browse the web and watch a massive archive of movies. Its best put that they both satisfy many impulses to keep you amused by offering diverse functionality. Video game-wise we’re seeing a massive increase with titles being launched through the online marketplaces to occupy players for a very long time. Do note that massive titles later this year such as Watch Dogs... Read On

Epic Man of Steel Trailer Given MineCraft Makeover

Epic Man of Steel Trailer Given MineCraft Makeover

I think we can all agree that we’re pretty damn excited for Man of Steel. Each trailer released has been more epic than the last and it finally seems that we’ll be given the Superman film that fans deserve. I mean come on, the last awesome Superman film was the original 1978 version staring the late Christopher Reeves. And don’t get me started on Superman Returns (I’m looking at you Bryan Singer). Today has made me proud to be a geek as someone out there has taken it upon themselves to recreate the recent Man of Steel trailer in MineCraft. And they did... Read On

God Game Skyward Collapse Out Now: Trailer Here

Looks like Arcen Games has just released an interesting new strategy game: Skyward Collapse. I’m a little surprised that I didn’t spot this one earlier- it looks gorgeous. Here’s a bit of info ripped from the official you-know-what: How do you balance — and indeed encourage — a war between factions without letting either side obliterate the other?  How do you rule over gods, creatures, and men who refuse to obey you?  How do you build a landscape of villages when bandits and mythology are conspiring to tear it down?  Skyward Collapse places you into the role of The... Game News : Humble Bundle Special Week Alan Wake Bundle

If you don’t know what the Humble Bundle is, or any of the other charity bundles that occur, then you are missing out on tremendous opportunities. To be frank,  Humble Bundle is a bundle of video games that are offered by a few developers, along with a site known as humblebundle.com, and they offer daily bundles that not only offer a lot of great video games in one package, but offer them at a lower price. In an essence, you can basically allocate where the money you use to purchase these goods go; meaning if you want pay six... Read On

Microsoft confirms first draft of used game system

Microsoft confirms first draft of used game system

Microsoft recently revealed a used game system for the Xbox One, though it may not be the final version of it. At present, you take a used game to the shop. The shop pays you a percentage of what they’ll sell the game for. The shop then gets 100% of the cash that used game sells for. With the Xbox One, you buy a game, put the disc in one time, enter a code, and the game saves fully to the 500 GB hard drive. No one else can use that disc. To trade a game into a shop... Read On

Interview with Guillame Boucher-Vidal, Creator of GoD Factory: Wingmen

Interview with Guillame Boucher-Vidal, Creator of GoD Factory: Wingmen

During PAX East 2013, there was a game that caught my attention- it looked like an ordinary space combat sim; it turned out to be much more than that. GoD Factory: Wingmen is a MOBA in which you design a ship and team up with three other people to take down the enemy team’s carrier (while taking care to protect yours). If you’re familiar with the likes of DotA or League of Legends, you’ll have an idea of what gameplay is like, to a certain degree. That said, the game takes place in space, and instead of using good... Read On

Microsoft meets Orwell and EA

Microsoft meets Orwell and EA

We’re all, to some degree, familiar with George Orwell’s nightmarish novel, Nineteen Eighty-Four. It’s about civilization’s plight against Big Brother, a fascist dictator who surveils the populace through everything, even their televisions. The way it seems, the Xbox One is on its way to making that possible. The Xbox One requires the packed in Kinect 2 to work. The Kinect 2 is much more powerful and accurate than its predecessor. It has the ability to recognize your voice and is powerful enough to detect your heartbeat and surroundings, even in absolute darkness. An internet connection is also required, along with... Read On
