Game News: A Walk in the Dark Looks Eerily Familiar… And Beautiful

Game News: A Walk in the Dark Looks Eerily Familiar… And Beautiful

I recently spotted the trailer for an upcoming indie platformer called A Walk in the Dark, and I must say that it does look rather familiar- the art style is a lot like a much more colorful LIMBO, though the gameplay seems to lean more towards Super Meat Boy. I think it looks like a work of art, and you can check out the trailer below: Like what you see? You might want to help the game out on Steam’s Greenlight service to help push the game forward unto the masses. It’s worth a vote, wouldn’t you say? Read On

Game News: Super Puzzle Platformer Deluxe Looks Awesome- Not to Mention Challenging

Quite frankly, I’m not quite sure how to describe this game… I know it’s a puzzler, I know it’s a platformer… But wow. I haven’t seen anything quite like it before- it’s like Dr. Mario got stuck inside his own twisted device and… Watch the trailer below, you’ll understand. Also, that music sounds absolutely divine- it’s as if 8-bits of glory have fallen through a portal to the past and have descended upon mortal, modern ears. Truly a delight to hear! Feeling the urge to play right now? Excellent- while SPPD isn’t out yet, SPP (the original game) is... Read On

Game News: Secret Message Found in “Remember Me” Trailer

Game News: Secret Message Found in “Remember Me” Trailer

Anybody remember Capcom’s upcoming game Remember Me, the one that looks like a mix between Mirror’s Edge, Deus Ex and Inception? Well, I honestly almost forgot about it until I saw the announcement trailer- and when I reached the end, I noticed something. The audio at the ending almost… It almost sounded like code for something that I’d heard before. I’m not sure what sparked me to do this, but I decided to take a spectrogram of the music at the end of the trailer. The results were a pleasant surprise. The image I know it doesn’t look like... Game News: Interested in Building Robots that Brawl? Check Out Rawbots!

Game News: Interested in Building Robots that Brawl? Check Out Rawbots!

This might be the coolest robot-fighting sandbox game I’ve ever seen. It’s called Rawbots, and it allows you to create a robot- a fighting robot in space that does awesome stuff like a boss. Seriously, I can’t stop hyperventilating- I’m concerned, at this point, for my physical well being- this is a game I’m pretty sure I need. If Real Steel had a game that allowed you to build a robot that could take on any awesome form, it would be this game. There’s no set release date quite yet, you should definitely like their Facebook page. It would... Read On

Game News: Remember Me Gameplay Looks Epic, Goes Unnoticed- Bad Sign?

Game News: Remember Me Gameplay Looks Epic, Goes Unnoticed- Bad Sign?

I have Reddit to thank for pointing me this way– the game Remember Me, from Capcom, looks absolutely incredible in the below gameplay footage, and yet everybody seemed to miss it somehow. Just for the record, there is some harsh language in the below video (though it’s nowhere near the level as the Far Cry 3 E3 demo). From the looks of things, you play as a woman with the ability to enter and remix a persons memories through some sort of awesome cyberpunk gadgetry. I’m keeping an eye on this one. http://youtu.be/7l_1RyqTnpg That was a pretty gripping seven... Read On

Game News: Long-Forgotten RPG “Mars” is Still Alive!

Some while ago, we had a pretty interesting article about five upcoming RPGs that we thought the world forgot about. One of them was Mars: War Logs. I’m now excited. . Mars: War Logs, the action RPG developed by Spiders for Xbox LIVE, PlayStation Network and PC download, has been unveiled today in video! Game News: Papo & Yo Launch Trailer Surfaces, Weird & Wonderful

I have to say, as much as I’m excited by Papo & Yo coming out, I have to say that the launch trailer left me just a little… Confused. Watch below, you’ll understand. Kind of baffling, eh? I mean sure, I certainly understand the story in the trailer (it’s spelled out in black & white), it’s just that something doesn’t seem quite right with it. Is it the pacing? I can’t tell you for sure, but what I can tell you is that Papo & Yo is going to be worth checking out. It’s a very avante garde puzzle... Read On

Game News: An Indie Uprising is Coming- It Looks Beautiful

It looks like it’s going to be time for great things to be happening on the XBLIG- the Indie Games Uprising III is coming, and it looks like a metric ton of awesome slathered in greatness with bits of “ooh” and “ahh” sprinkled haphazardly about. Let’s see here, we’ve got Gateways, Diehard Dungeon, City Tuesday (which looks really very different), Pixel (which reminds me of Portal), Entropy, Smooth Operators: Call Center Chaos, Xenominer and finally Sententia. Watch the trailer below. You’ll be amazed at the variety (and the polish) of all these great games. Those games all look awesome,... Read On

Game News: Final Fantasy III Coming to Ouya

Game News: Final Fantasy III Coming to Ouya

It looks like things are really shaping up for the Ouya- as of this being written, the upcoming crowdfunded console is nearly five million dollars over its original $950,000 goal, and it just might wind up carving out a (big!) niché for itself. This time, it’s Final Fantasy III coming to the Ouya, one of the least popular in Square’s multi-million selling series (besides FFV). Here’s the info ripped from their Kickstarter page: We’ve been saying that OUYA will offer all kinds of games. This morning, we are honored to announce that OUYA is partnering with Square Enix to... Game News: Surprise Trailer Surfaces for Awesome Indie Game: Bleed

Remember Contra? Remember Metroid? Remember when games were pixelated? Wait a minute- half of them made today are still blocky and… Before I go too far off topic, I wanted to tell you about something beautiful I found on Reddit– it’s a platformer called Bleed from a fresh new company called Bootdisk Revolution. The game looks like a cross between Contra and Metroid, and the art? Retro is beautiful, I suppose. While I’m not too sure about the title (Bleed just doesn’t sound right), this looks potentially punishing. I haven’t seen too many games like it as of late,... Read On

What better incentive to stick around than free stuff? Quality content? Good one. So to kick us off, Gateways has come to PC, and it’s absolutely insane. How can it be described? I suppose the easiest descriptor is as a 2D version of Portal, but I fear that doesn’t do the title justice. Gateways is a 2D platform game set in the lab of an inventor called Ed... Read On

Game News: 20 Minute Dead Space 3 Video Brings The Terror And Action To Co-op

When Dead Space came I was never happier to play a game that scared the crap out of me. It had been a long time since a horror survival game did that to me and it was great to see that someone made a game that made playing in the dark (and with surround sound) a terrifying experience. Dead Space 2 delivered the and more so it’s no surprise when Dead Space 3 was announced at E3 this year. Well now Visceral was nice enough to release a 20 minute gameplay video highlighting some new gameplay mechanics and bad... Read On

Game News: Wikipad Sees Changes- New Design

Game News: Wikipad Sees Changes- New Design

Well, it looks like the Wikipad 3D has seen some changes– specifically, a new design for its controller. It looks less like a well-grafted Xbox 360 controller and more like a unique product. Also, there’s going to be two different versions of the Wikipad- here’s a quote from their Facebook page: The first unit is 2D but the 3D will follow a couple of months later. Rather than a 3D second rate tab we wanted a first rate tab with 3D functionality… that will happen. Interesting- and a smart move. While glasses-free 3D is certainly awesome, perhaps there’s a... Game News: Watch Dogs’ Gameplay Leaves You Wanting More

E3 is finally over but there are still plenty of gameplay videos and teasers to sort through. But if there is one game you should pay attention to it’s Ubisoft’s Watch Dogs. I’m sure after seeing it during their press conference I can’t have been the only one who was jumping up and down in their seat. But rather than write a bunch of paragraphs on why this game looks awesome and is going to be a must have I’ll just let the video do all the talking. Read On
