Korak – Son Of Tarzan Volume 1 Review

Korak – Son Of Tarzan Volume 1 Review

The equally clever and resourceful son of the jungle lord gets his own title, in a spin-off from the writer of Tarzan,  Gaylord DuBois, and Russ Manning. The first of the two volumes are the complete run, Jane’s and Tarzan’s son, Korak alongside his sidekick great-ape best friend/side-kick Pahkut, goes on his own adventures to brave the creatures and tribes of the unforgiving jungle! When I first began reading Korak – Son Of Tarzan Vol. 1 I wasn’t quite sure what to think of it. I was somewhat familiar with Tarzan and some of his stories, but it’s been awhile since I’ve read anything Tarzan... Read On

Game News: World’s Largest Game of Pong Took Place On a Building (Video Here)

It’s tech week in Philadelphia right now, and many great things are happening around the city. One of them is the world’s largest game of Pong.Organized by Dr. Frank Lee of Drexel University, it’s something that he’s “been envisioning for quite a while”, and he says it’s “fun for anyone who’s ever played a video game, but it’s also a uniquely interactive art installation.” The first game took place on April 19th, 2013 and the next takes place on the 24th. The players are on the steps of the Philadelphia Art Museum, where they watch their game on the north wall of... Read On

TV News: Defiance Debuts; SyFy May Have a Winner

If you’ve been watching the SyFy channel since the name change, you may have been a little disappointed as of late by the current programming- ghost hunting, haunted thrift stores and “pro” wrestling seem to have been dominating as of late. Not to say that there’s nothing worthwhile on SyFy (Warehouse 13 and Continuum seem to be pretty well received), but for the most part, they don’t have any real heavy hitters- quite the disappointment from the channel that once ran Ray Bradbury Theater. So what’s going on with Defiance? in short, there was an attack by a group of relatively... Read On

Game News: Interview with Malik Boukhira, Developer of Tiny Brains

Game News: Interview with Malik Boukhira, Developer of Tiny Brains

One of my favorite games of PAX East 2013 was Tiny Brains, an insanely fun co-op action puzzle platformer with plenty of personality and challenging, innovative gameplay. I had the chance to have a chat with Malik Boukhira, one of the developers at Spearhead Games, and we talked about Tiny Brains, what games what influenced it, and what it’s like developing games independently. Mr. Boukhira and the rest of the Spearhead staff formerly worked for much larger studios, such as Ubisoft, and when they got together and formed Spearhead, the experience was completely different than what they were used to. Game News: Pandora’s Tower

Game News: Pandora’s Tower

If you honestly believed that the Wii was truly going to go out without a boom, then you are clearly mistaken. Besides the two amazing RPG titles that already came out –Xenoblade Chronicles and The Last Story -another title known as Pandora’s Tower is also in the running to come out alongside those two in the United States thanks to “Operation Rainfall”, or in short “Oprainfall”. In short, this operation was a fan campaign in order to persuade Nintendo of America to localize those three titles in the US. Just like the other two titles listed before, Pandora’s Tower... Game News: Steampunk Undersea Puzzling? You Must See Fathom!

Another sickstarter project? That was the first thing I thought when I looked at Fathom- it seems that Kickstarter might as well open up its own little version of Steam for all the games that come through there. That said, upon further examination I realized that Fathom was a lot more awesome than I was giving it credit for. Disregarding my disdain for the glut of games seeking crowdfunding (not that there’s anything wrong with it, come to think of it), Fathom looks absolutely brilliant. The game centers on Daniel, a well-to-do Londoner driven to build a bathysphere and explore the Bermuda Triangle after a... Read On

Game Preview: Drunken Robot Pornography

Game Preview: Drunken Robot Pornography

Drunken Robot Pornography is probably the oddest name of any video game title since the Super Nintendo era, and in all honesty the title doesn’t matter in the long run- even though being it might be a huge turnoff- since the game overall has the feel that it provides, which is to give the player a crazy, fun experience, and in all honesty it does do exactly that. The alpha version of DRP (Drunken Robot Pornography) offers the player a chance to first of all experience the campaign mode of DRP, and an overall chance to build their own... Read On

Game News: PAX East is Coming- Here’s What We’re Looking Forward To

The Penny Arcade Expo grows near; the expo is a gaming festival and we’ll be there! There’s going to be plenty of awesome games on display, here’s a few that caught our attention. Boot Hill Heroes To be honest, I don’t think there are enough spaghetti-western video games. Sure, Red Dead Redemption came out a few years ago, but what have we seen? Very, very little of the west. Say hello to Boot Hill Heroes. http://youtu.be/95btKyH-6B4 After an alleged attack by the Chepakwik Indians, the people of Bronco County are on the brink of war.  Only a farm boy who knows... Game News: The Steam Box is Coming- How Will it Do?

The rumors have been floating about for a good long while; between Valve’s job listings for hardware developers and their adoption of Linux, the creation of a home console seemed inevitable. And at this year’s CES, it finally happened: the Xi3 Piston is a game console that will ship running Steam, Valve’s game distribution service that’s taken the world of PC gaming by storm. The question remains: how will the Steam Box fare in the current gaming climate? The inevitable successors to the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 have yet to be officially announced, and the Wii U is... Game News: Capcom Announces Street Fighter X Megaman

Game News: Capcom Announces Street Fighter X Megaman

Some among us are old enough to remember when Megaman first came out on December 17, 1987- that was a good twenty-five years ago. Where does the time go? I don’t know, but what I do know is that Capcom’s freshly announced Street Fighter X Megaman combines two of their most beloved franchises into one beautiful ode to both games; Megaman hasn’t seen much action lately, when suddenly, hadouken! He’s up against the cast of Street Fighter. Check out the trailer below: The game’s going to be free for PC, and will be available to download from Capcom-Unity.com on... Read On

Preview – Dollar Dash

One of Kalypso’s latest titles, the same company responsible for developing Tropico and Jagged Alliance, have recently released a preview build for Dollar Dash, and in short, it’s a fun mini game. The players take upon themselves the role of a burglar as they are pulling off a heist. During this heist, there are other burglars that are trying to pull off a heist of their own at the same time, in which it is the player’s responsibility to utilize weapons and other sort of mechanisms to loot the area, and all of the money in the enemies’ possession and turn it in before them.... Movie News: Deus Ex Human Revolution Adaptation Finds Writers

It was only a matter of time before Deus Ex Human Revolution was picked up to be developed into a film. The neo-noir sci-fi setting was just ripe for being translated to the big screen. Well now it seems Hollywood is serious about bringing this world to life for moviegoers as the writers behind the film Sinister, C. Robert Cargill and Scott Derrickson have been tapped to write the screenplay by CBS Films. I have have yet to seeSinister, but I am a fan of Cargill’s writing and this team of writers seem like the guys who have just... Read On

Game News: Rockstar Releases New GTA V Trailer

Game News: Rockstar Releases New GTA V Trailer

You gotta love Rockstar. They make some amazing games, but I’ll be damned if they’re not annoying when it comes to releasing info about their upcoming games. They pretty much release the news at their own pace regardless of the millions of fans clamoring for any little bit they can throw our way. Well following the recent GameInformer issue Rockstar was nice enough to release a brand new trailer for the upcomingGrand Theft Auto V. Of course it still doesn’t reveal much other than it looks to be pretty crazy in the action department. I wonder how much they... Read On

It’s that time once again for your minds to be blown with this week’s WTF moment in games. Game News: Of Orcs And Men Launch Trailer!

Game News: Of Orcs And Men Launch Trailer!

Of Orcs And Men, set to be a fantastic story of war between various factions in long distant realms, will be told in the form of an RPG which should be a breath of fresh air as I have been missing out on good old fashioned story telling at the moment. If you have painfully endured the long console RPG drought this summer then this title looks to be a excellent form of sustenance until we see Assassins Creed III or Black Ops II. A story that seems reminiscent of The Lord of The Rings trilogy in terms of the mythos and... Read On

TV News: Will “Arrow” Fly True?

There’s a good chance that you’ve heard about the CW’s new series, Arrow. Following in what appears to be the footsteps of Smallville, Arrow is about another DC hero, the Green Arrow, also known as Oliver Queen, a genius billionaire playboy philanthropist (hey, wait a minute!) out for justice. You might’ve seen him in the Justice League (or Young Justice as of late) and if you haven’t had the chance, you’re going to want to check out our review of a relatively recent origin story by Andy Diggle, Green Arrow: Year One. Comic news! Avengers V.S. X-men Update! The Finale!

Alright everybody, I hope I wasn’t the only person who was awaiting the end of this Hero V.S. Hero arc! I’ll admit, I was a bit disappointed at how it ended, but all in all in was an enjoyable read! Spoilers ahead! You are warned! As the days go by, more of the Avengers are captured and more or less tortured by the Phoenix Five; meanwhile Hope’s training in the ancient, mystical city of K’un-L’un has yet to bear fruit. Some of the X-Men feel understandably uncomfortable about the way the newly empowered Phoenix Five are treating their prisoners and... Read On

Comic News! The Dark Knight Returns – Part 1 Review!

Comic News! The Dark Knight Returns – Part 1 Review!

Hello everyone! I thought I’d take the time to review the newly released “The Dark Knight Returns – Part 1.” Batman is among one of my favorite super heroes. Although that doesn’t mean I’m not one of those “Batman v.s. anything,” and Bats always comes out on top, type of guys.  The character of Batman has a long, deep, rich history with many different “versions,” from different time-lines, different Earths, etc.  Christian Bale’s performance as “The Caped Crusader,” has drawn all sorts of attention to the character. Although I can’t help but feel those unfamiliar with some of Batman’s... Read On

Capcom, as promised released a demo for Resident Evil 6 and has gone live today. Preview- Tryst

Preview- Tryst

Massive multiplayer type demos aren’t usually the best, especially when the main point of the game is to show how well done the multiplayer part of the game is. Tryst is partially the best example for this type of convolution. Blue Giant Interactive is the developing team who will release Tryst on September 14, 2012, and is a title that deserves a little attention. Tryst enables the player to engage with anyone and everyone in the lobby, depending on whether or not anyone is there. That’s actually one of the main follies within the pre-release bundle that we’ve gotten... Read On

Comic News! Avengers V.S. X-Men update!

Hey everyone! It’s time for another update! I’m sure as we all know this whole event has us thinking about every little development that takes place. Unfortunately I don’t think I’m going to be covering all of the tie-ins to this event, because as is classic Marvel style, they need one million books to tell a story! (No offense! Just bogs the readers down sometimes.) It appears everything is coming to a head for the newly empowered Phoenix 5! After coming into their new abilities they actually start HELPING the world. Go figure. They terra-form wastelands and desserts into... Read On
